  • Shredded chicken breasts – You can cook and shred some boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pull the meat off from a rotisserie chicken, or, my favorite option – grab the canned chicken breast. (Make sure to grab one in water.)
  • Cream cheese – Full-fat brick cream cheese works best.
  • Buffalo sauce – I like to use Frank’s hot sauce but you can use any you prefer.
  • Ranch dressing – Homemade ranch dressing is great in this recipe but any ranch dressing works.
  • Cheddar cheese – Sharp or mild cheddar are both great. You can also use a blend of your favorite shredded cheese.

How To Make Buffalo Chicken Dip

  • Prep. Preheat the oven to 375F.
  • Combine the ingredients. Mix together everything except for 1/2 cup of the cheese. Transfer the mixture evenly into the pan. Cover with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted.

Can I Make This In The Slow Cooker?

Yes, this buffalo chicken dip can easily be prepared in the crockpot too.

Just add everything to the slow cooker, turn it on low for 3-4 hours, and stir occasionally. Once everything is heated through and melted, you can turn it to the “warm” setting to keep it warm until serving.

  • Make ahead. You can make this up to a day in advance. Prepare the chicken mixture as directed, transfer it to the pan, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for a day. You may need to add a few minutes to the baking time if you bake directly from the fridge.
  • Storing leftovers. Leftover buffalo chicken dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days (Note that the buffalo sauce will likely stain plastic containers, so glass is better.)
  • Reheat. You can either reheat the whole casserole dish in the oven at 350F until warm and bubbly (covering with foil if the top starts to brown) or pop individual servings in the microwave.
